Graphic Designer & Stylist. Miami, FL.
How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style is constantly evolving. I’m naturally drawn towards fabrics and styles that look and feel comfortable but also show and complement the body figure. (You must do that when you’re short like me.) But, my “look”—whether it be “feminine,” “masculine,” “sporty,” or “sophisticated”—could shift severely at the drop of a hat (pun unavoidable).
My most cherished item is a teddy bear that my parents gave to me the day I was adopted at 3-months-old from South Korea to the U.S. I am now 25-years-old and would still sleep with it every single night if I didn’t have an equally cuddly boyfriend. Is that TMI?
Where is your favorite place to dine?
At my house. To clarify, I’m not implying that I’m great at cooking but I do love experimenting, pulling it all together, and having a nice dinner at home (occasionally in my sweatpants—picking out of every dish while standing at the counter). Hey, you asked.
What is the best advice you’ve received from your parents?
My parents are really amazing people and have taught me so much it’s hard to pinpoint the single, best piece of advice I’ve gotten from them. I think the most important values though, I’ve simply watched them do over the years. My dad is a self-employed electrician and the hardest-working person I know. He is honest and generous with his work and truly listens to what people need. My mom is a go-getter and a fighter – the strongest, most determined person I know. She goes through life making the most of every single day and never forgetting to show her family unconditional love. I strive to be more like them all the time. Knowing how they do it though, is still a mystery.
What are you extremely passionate about?
I’m very passionate about enjoying this life and being happy with those that I love. I know that may seem vague or cliché but I think every person should strive to be grateful for the little things. The “bigger” things are just a huge bonus at this point. I’m passionate about reaching my potential as a creative spirit in the business world, as a woman and as a human being. Some may say I’m dramatic about everything, but I call it passion.
What lady do you think embodies pure elegance and style?
There are so many women who embody style and elegance for me, naming one is very difficult. A lot of these women are writers I follow online – who write about their personal lives, professional careers, creative struggles and triumphs on their design, food, decor or what-have-you blogs. I’m going to narrow it down to two though, I think that’s the best I can do. Bri Emery, owner of Design Love Fest and Nicole Warne, owner of Gary Pepper Vintage. They are so inspiring to me, and have [unknowingly] guided me through finding myself as a designer, stylist and writer as well as starting and committing to my own blog. They work hard, efficiently and they aren’t selfish with their talent. They share, they inspire others, which of course, spreads their gift. They are powerful yet transparent and helpful in their journey—which is what I aspire to be.
What do you consider a staple in a lady’s wardrobe?
Every woman is interesting and stylish in her own way but something every woman should have, not only within her closet, is unwavering confidence. Be proud of who you are, of what you’re wearing and of what you’re doing at all times.
