Tuscany. Imagine the setting, the old meets the new. The birthplace of the Renaissance and a bedrock of art and architecture fusing itself alongside the flicker of cameras, the noise of the people immersed in capturing every bit of its spirit. It is there that the frenzy ensues, in the province of Florence, a bustling thoroughfare and home to Pitti Immagine Uomo, where vendors and patrons alike gather at the Fortezza de Basso. But it’s more than that. It’s way more than menswear. It’s beyond the clothes.
For the last 3 years, A&H Magazine has traveled across the Atlantic to capture the sights and sounds of the Mecca of menswear. We’ve given you the show and this time we’ve geared up to bring you with us. This time, I’m taking a seat and locking in, sharing the perspective of the audience at home. For the better part of this week, I’ll be posting what graces our lens, what we are privileged to engage in and what we love most about the experience. And the week to follow you will see what Pitti Uomo is really all about. We’ll be going deeper, sharing stories of creatives and aficionados that converge near Ponte Vecchio. There is more to it, layers that can be peeled back to reveal heritage and passion, so much to explore, feel, hear, touch. There are treasures yet to be discovered, dreams still yet to be realized, relationships yet to be formed and cultivated. This is just the beginning.
I’ve yet to make my first visit so I’ll be living vicariously through Corey, Neil, Ryan and our special guest contributors Christopher Cortez, Soosan Joon, and Anthony Delacruz. Stay tuned and follow us on our Instagram page to see tales from Firenze. You will not be disappointed. This is a window to that ancient city. Welcome to Day 3.
