Sustainable and stylish, VEJA is a French brand with a foot in Brazil, the site of their manufacturing. After 9 years, the goal remains unchanged: producing great trainers that make a positive environmental impact. All of their materials are from natural and fair trade sources and their soles are crafted from rubber from the Amazon rainforest, with a focus on preserving the habitat. “We believe that ecology goes hand in hand with economic activity”, says co-founder François-Ghislain Morilliin. With a global sensibility, a premium on comfort, versatile silhouettes and ethically and organically sourced materials, they’re ready to enter the American market after showing in the TMRW section at PROJECT, curated by Monsieur Jerome. Their first stop is KITH in New York after being mainstays in Collette, Merci, and Le Bon Marche. They’re also experimenting with uncanny materials, including the blue fish skin. Their expansion is as organic as their shoe components. And we think they make a great travel shoe.
