Your experiences get you in the door. What you do with the opportunity gets you up the ladder. Now more than ever, I’m witnessing an increasing number of fellow millennials pursuing a cause as opposed to a check. They’ve bucked upward mobility to blaze their own trails. There is a renewed passion for actually doing what you love and enjoy. And many who don’t find themselves in that category currently are leaving to appropriate happiness.
It takes a great deal of courage to deny the status quo: the influence of timid peers, the experience of parents, the general push for “playing it safe”, or even our own dormant fears. But every reward is preceded by a certain measure of risk. It’s the calculating individual that can count the upside.
