Travel Essentials with Jack + Mulligan

Traveling is a huge part of A&H Magazine and as a team we travel a lot. With that being said, the biggest hassle of constantly traveling is finding the perfect luggage to take with you. Especially with trying to avoid checking in bags, having the perfect carry on has never been more important.  A perfect bag that can fit your weekend essentials and have some extra room to throw in a second pair of shoes is exactly what the Jack + Mulligan Kennedy Duffel gives you. The perfect amount of space to fit everything you need plus a little extra,  its perfect for the over packer because it has space for all the extra stuff you don’t actually need but will pack anyway. Made out of  18 oz waterproof canvas with a rugged navy cotton twill lining accented by the chocolate brown leather handles, this is the durable stylish bag you have been looking for. Adding  the Dylan Dopp Kit in the same color story as your bag is the perfect way to carry all your toiletries in one place . Pack your Kennedy Duffel and Dylan Dopp kit and go on that weekend getaway you have been dreaming about.

We had the opportunity to get personal with  Jack + Mulligan  and speak to them about their brand, read more below:

A&H: How did the Jack + Mulligan brand come to fruition?

J+M: We started Jack + Mulligan as an adventure. We wanted a bag that didn’t yet exist, and set out to learn how to make our own, from designing, sourcing materials, and producing them at the best factories available.

The result of that journey is a line of the highest quality men’s bags available, handmade by highly skilled craftsmen right here in the good old USA, using the finest materials, and all for an honest value.

We choose materials and silhouettes that are meant to only get better with age, and never go out of style.

A&H: Talk about how Made in the USA is key to the brand’s history.

J+M: The United States has a long history of manufacturing excellence in the apparel and accessories sector, with the Garment District right here in NYC having been the global epicenter at one point. Unfortunately much of the domestic manufacturing has since gone overseas to Asia, and the quality of many brands’ products has suffered as a result.

We use domestic manufacturing because from our experience the quality is unparalleled. Our bags are handmade in a second generation family owned factory where for the most part the craftsmen have 20-30 years experience in making bags.

We take great pride in supporting local manufacturing, and for us the ability to be in the factory working closely with our products, even doing some of the leather and detail work ourselves is very important to us.

A&H: Traveling is a huge part of what A&H stands for, and as a brand that sells travel bags, how does travel influence the designs of each piece in the collection?

J+M: Travel influences us greatly in the design process. We incorporate as much of our own experience as well as feedback from friends and customers in terms of how our bags will be used. It all starts with selecting the best materials available that are equally hardwearing and handsome. Our goal is to make products that will last a lifetime, hopefully only getting better with age. Travel can create a lot of wear and tear so we make sure to incorporate measures to reinforce stress points on each bag so that it can stand the test of time.

We hope that our bags in some way inspire our customers. Whether your adventure is starting a business or traveling to far away places- we want our customers to pack a few of their favorite things and use their Jack + Mulligan bag with purpose.
