Ursa Major Men

Winter’s brutal. Cold weather, snowy nights, and most (if not all) women are in a deep hibernation (aka religiously reading People magazine and drinking wine). Local watering holes dry up and people just don’t come out of their dwelling. I, on the other hand, love winter. It’s a time to refresh and hit the new year running. There’s nothing better than a winter’s night walk to clear you mind.

Lord, does the winter do a number on my skin. I’ve always battled skin issues, including  a world war three with acne (puberty is an odd time in our lives). I’ve tried everything under the sun. Some things did an alright job while others only made things worse. Ask any female and they too will tell you there’s nothing attractive about dry, troubled skin. I recently began investing more time and care into what I am doing to clean my face and body. Not to bash other brands, but what you’re mostly likely putting on your face isn’t really doing anything.

I met Oliver and Emily of Ursa Major at the MAN show two years ago. Honestly, I was intrigued that a skin care line was showing at a men’s clothing trade-show. Why weren’t they in some fancy department store or plastered in advertisements and commercials? I was skeptic, which was to be expected. We struck up a conversation and of course I expressed my personal issues and struggles I’ve had with skin care. His words were kind, thoughtful, and educational. I left with a better understanding of natural skin care.

Taking care of my skin is a priority and an essential part of my day. What I like most about Ursa Major is their advance formula of all-natural ingredients. Most skin products are loaded with chemicals and toxins that should be far from your face. I spoke with Oliver a few weeks ago and wanted to share my experience with Ursa Major for a full month—recording in journal-fashion my thoughts, tips, and recommendations for all our readers. He sent over the “Big Kahuna Skin Care Set”—which includes the Fantastic Face Wash, Stellar Shave Cream, 4-in-1 Face Tonic, and the Fortifying Face Balm. For the next 30 days, I will post weekly updates about each product in our journal for the month of February. I was too excited not to try a little bit out before this project begins. My initial reaction: beautiful packaging combined with a woodsy/fresh/pine scent. Needless to say, I’m eager to begin testing it all out!
